Current Mascaras

Mascara is one of my favorite makeup items. I don’t feel like my makeup is complete until I put it on and if I’m not wearing much makeup out I will always put on mascara. I have really light lashes so mascara helps them to stand out. At the moment I own L’Oreal High Intensity Pigments Mascara in Ultimate Black (I believe this has been discontinued though), Covergirl LashBlast in Very Black, Maybelline One by One Volum’ Express in Blackest Black, Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Waterproof in Very Black, and Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black.

The L’Oreal Hip Mascara is a nice mascara with a bristle wand. I like the volume it provides and it is very pigmented. It’s a wet formula at first, but dries up a little pretty quickly. That being said it doesn’t completely dry up too quickly as I have had this one for quite some time.

The Covergirl LashBlast has a large plastic wand and gives a nice natural look because it separates the lashes well. I like this mascara although it does flake sometimes if I wear it for a long time.

The Maybelline One by One Volum’ Express also has a plastic wand. I find this to be similar to LashBlast, but I like it slightly better. I think it separates my lashes better and doesn't flake.

The Maybelline The Falsies Mascara is a wet formula with a bristle wand. It’s very volumizing and the waterproof formula is incredibly long lasting. I don’t usually buy waterproof because they are so hard to remove, but it’s nice to have one on hand when necessary.

The Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is a waterproof mascara with a very small bristle wand. It makes it easy to get the bottom lashes without making a mess. I think the wand is really great and the formula is nice, but nothing revolutionary. It doesn’t smudge however, which is important for bottom lashes. I don’t wear this as much however as it is just another step and usually I just use whatever mascara I am using at the time.

I like all these mascaras and couldn’t choose a favorite because I use them all for different looks. It really just depends on my mood. Here’s a photo of my bare lashes for comparison. I am not wearing any makeup other than the mascaras in any of the pictures.
