Okay, okay. I've been gone for quite a long time. I started a new job a few weeks ago and between the job itself, the commute (1 hr. each way) and trying to make time for working out, sleeping and running errands I haven't had any time for extras (TV, internet, etc.). I apologize for the absence and promise to try better. I am still figuring out how to fit it all in. I thought I would just do a quick post on a few of the things I have been loving.
1) My new real techniques brushes. I have only had them a few days, but I love them. They are really high quality, yet cheap. I have the core collection and the powder brush. Once I have used them for longer I will do a separate post on them with pictures.
2) Exfoliation. I have been loving exfoliating my body about once a week. I tend to get lazy and stop doing things like this for a while. Then when I do it again I realize how amazing it is. I like to make my own scrub with plain white sugar and/or sea salt, olive oil and lemon juice. Although if I am going to be self-tanning afterwards I just use plain white sugar on dry skin.
3) Keeping along the same lines, I recently bought The Body Shop's Tea Tree Blackhead Exfoliating Wash. I have been using this for two weeks (only about 3 times) and so far I really like it. I lightly rub it around on my face while in the shower and have been leaving it on for a few minutes after I'm done scrubbing like a mask. I feel that it has helped my blackheads a little as they have been quite bad lately.
4) I also bought The Body Shop's Almond Hand & Nail Butter. I have crazy dry hands because I wash my hands obsessively and this product has been very helpful. It moisturizes and soothes my hands quite well. I don't love the smell, but it isn't too offensive. The other thing is it leaves an odd feeling on my hands. I honestly can't even describe it. It does absorb into the skin and isn't greasy, but there's just something about how it leaves my hands feeling that I don't love.
5) The last one is a weird thing to put on the list, but I have been using a lot of it for the past few weeks nonetheless. It's Neosporin. I have a confession to make. I have an unhealthy obsession with picking at my skin. I pick at acne on my face as well as spots on my body (however I pick at my face far more). I recently decided this is one habit I need to nip in the bud. This is where the Neosporin comes into play. I tend to keep picking at acne scabs for weeks never letting them heal. I have been coating them in Neosporin at night so I'm not as tempted to pick at them. Of course it is also healing the scabs at the same time. I have also been putting a light layer on in the morning before makeup. I have seen definite improvements in my skin. And as you can probably guess I have some acne scars to deal with because of this problem, but I have been using a product for about 2 months that I feel is really helping with dark marks. I'm not ready to review the product yet since dark spot correctors take a long time to fully work, but I will review it when I am ready.
That's all I have for now. As I have already said I am sorry for disappearing and I will try to figure out the best way to fit blogging in to my new routine. Until then I'm not sure when I will post again, but I'm hoping I can make time this weekend.
